Jan 2, 2004 · For a moment I thought I would easily recommend the advantage of AMSOIL's Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid or their Synthetic Anti-War Hydraulic Oil. Both have service intervals of 2-3 times normal oils. However, in checking the prices for a 55 gallon drum I realize the "leap of faith" it would take to consider this.

Jul 25, 2006 · anyone change their hydralic fluid on a gravely 260z? I am finding that removing the filter and plug on resevoir tank does not drain all that is needed to refill 4 qts. Its recommends adding 4 qts to replace. The manual just states to remove filter, let drain, and fill with 4 qts. i get one quart in there and resevoir is full.

I checked the fluid when it was cold and because it's a new mower to me, I wasn't aware that the cold fluid amount is maybe 1/2" above the bottom of the reservoir. That is much lower than other machines I've had. I guess all is well. I just have to keep an eye on things as usual. Keep an eye on your "stuff"!

Feb 27, 2007 · You HAVE to use synthetic fluid in an Exmark, per my conversation with a Hydrogear engineer, because their reservoir is so small. Mineral based oils will fry your pump. White engineers say that the Dixie Choppers and Hustlers are the 2 coolest operating hydro systems in the market.

Apr 28, 2019 · Some of them will recommend 20w50 conventional and then they will have a line that says "for longer interval life use exmark", or scag, or hustler, or toro, or john deere, etc. My hustler manual calls for 20w50 in the hydro's and it specifically states to buy the hustler hydro fluid for longer intervals.

Aug 4, 2008 · use Hydraulic fluid and proper filters. There are many threads about cross-referencing filters but just using a "toyota" filter is not right. If there is motor oil in the lines you may have to flush it. Or change it again after running it 20-30 hours to get all the containinants out. Never any excuse for doing things right the first time.
