The Bristol City Stadium (tentative name) was a proposed football stadium, announced in November 2007, which would be built on land at Ashton Vale, Bristol, England, and would replace Ashton Gate Stadium as the home stadium of Bristol City F.C. [1] Due to legal issues, the club cancelled the project, instead deciding to renovate Ashton Gate.

Ashton Gate is a multi-use stadium in Ashton Gate, Bristol, England, and is the home of Bristol City F.C. and the Bristol Bears rugby union team. Located in the south-west of the city, just south of the River Avon, it currently has an all-seated capacity of 26,462 (usually advertised as 27,000).

The leading event space in Bristol and South West and the home of Bristol City Football and Bristol Bears, Ashton Gate Stadium has a 27,000 capacity in sports mode and 32,000 in concert mode; 22 executive boxes; and an array of meeting/function spaces.

The stadium has four concourses for home fans (Dolman Stand, South Stand and Upper and Lower Lansdown Stands) and one reserved for away fans (the Atyeo Stand). The Lansdown Stand is a double-tiered stand and has four levels.
