I was wondering how I could tell if it was a competition model or just a regular HBAR. The serial number is BFI628xxx . I am not sure if remingont/freedom arms group kept the old Bushmaster records.

Jun 27, 2008 · We have a new 20" Bushmaster HBAR and I actually like the way it balances with the standard handguards. When shooting rapid fire strings on some USPSA targets there is practically no muzzle rise due to the slight forward CG. I like that. With the cheap rail hand guard on it was a little too front heavy for me. So we took that off.

Oct 31, 2016 · BM offered 20 inch barrels in 1-9 twist Hbar and both 1-7 & 1-9 govt profile / A-2 in pre and post ban flavors and also a 1 inch tube 1-8 twist CMV competition Hbar that was non chrome, unmarked and parked. Windham currently offers a 20" Hbar fluted stainless barrel with bolt / railed block and 20" A-2 / govt profile models threaded and crowned.

About the Rifle: Floating Handguard (Hogue) Front iron sight (not sure if it's best to have the small rail for the gas tube instead) I'm not sure what factory specs of the HBAR Barrel are (twist etc.) Goal: 300 Yard Tack Driver (5" groups would be nice, realistic?)

I have been weighing building Vs buying and modding. Since AR's are currently so cheap, I figure a ban era A2 would be the least desirable of them out right now.

Dec 7, 2009 · hey i shot my 11.5"Hbar puncked thru 3-1/8th of an inch steel plates i welded together with ease at 50 yards thats enough to mess up anyones day, Really no one has any solid proof that the 11.5"HBAR isnt good enough out to 200 yards for a defensive scenario, i dont plan on using my 11.5"Hbar out past 50 yards using open sights anyways if i ever ...

Jun 15, 2021 · I was just gifted a Colt M4 barrel from my boss, so I think I’m gonna just end up putting that on the A2 upper for a 727/XM4-ish knockoff and save the Bushmaster hbar just in case I decide to bite the bullet for a Gordon carbine knockoff and have the barrel cut and contoured for an AEM5.

Sep 7, 2010 · Bushmaster DOES cut corners on their carbines, that is undisputable. However, they do build one of the best 20 inch a2 and a4 rifles available today. The only thing lacking on the A4 is an F front sight, which isn't as big an issue as its made on here.

Oct 1, 2009 · Unlike colt, when BUSHMASTER says "HEAVY BARREL" they mean it, the thing is 1 inch round behind the front sight until you get to the upper reciever. Have the "A2" 20 incher, the only down side i've had is the weight like i said it truly is a heavy barrel.
