Dec 5, 2010 · The brake pressure switch on the end of the master cylinder works like this. The brake pressure switch has continuity to the CC servo when the brakes are not applied . When the brakes are applied it breaks the connection and removes the 12 volt signal to the CC servo.

Jul 16, 2023 · Thanks, Eddie. It appears the 2008 is atypical then. There's nothing attached to the Master Cylinder. And I cant see anything that looks like a pressure actuated switch in the vicinity of the Master Cylinder. I'm wondering that because of the fire issue associated with the pressure switch, that Ford went with a brake position switch instead.

Jun 22, 2003 · The Brake Pressure Switch is just the earlier name for the Deactivation Switch - same thing. Ironically, it is intended as a redundant safety device to cancel the cruise control in the event that the Brake Pedal Position switch should fail. The Brake Pressure Switch is screwed into the front nose of the brake master cylinder.
