Why is New Glenn so much bigger than Falcon Heavy but has less …
Aug 24, 2021 · If you compare the New Glenn to the Vulcan 2C, you can see that New Glenn gets considerably more mass to LEO, but falls off pretty fast as C3 increases. This may be because the BE-3U is less efficient than the RL-10, that the New Glenn upper stage stages much earlier than Vulcan's, which is less efficient for high energy payloads, or that the ...
What is the actual likelihood of New Glenn launching EscaPADE
Based on that, I think it’s a stretch to say New Glenn will have a launch before the end of 2024. Ground testing, integration, etc take time. Additional hiccups could come from Vulcan’s first launches and flight cadence, if they either reveal issues or …
New Glenn First Stage moving to the pad : r/SpaceXLounge - Reddit
Jan 10, 2024 · New Glenn is likely going to be the third ever reusable orbital launcher behind the Shuttle and Falcon, maybe 4th depending on Starship. But regardless, rockets like New Glenn are the future, while SLS is just an artifact of an era of corrupt politics and oldspace capture of NASA.
New Glenn vs Starship size comparison : r/BlueOrigin - Reddit
Feb 21, 2023 · As a result, I am happy that Space X have made Starship bigger than New Glenn, because that means Blue Origin when they come to build New Armstrong, and bigger rockets to come, will not have to waste all the money, and make all the mistakes that Space X have made [because development, especially the iterative development approach that Space X ...
Blue Origin sure seems confident it will launch New Glenn in 2024
Dec 13, 2023 · Of course, there's a lot for Blue Origin to test and validate before New Glenn is ready to fly. First, the company's engineers need to fully assemble a New Glenn rocket and raise it on the company's sprawling seaside launch pad …

Jan 26, 2019 · The New Glenn fairing and payload capacity is perfectly suited to dual launch two heavy GEO sats. New Glenn reusable can put 2 6.5 tonne sats to GEO transfer, as well as do big, heavy direct-to-GEO DOD launches. Large fairing + large payload = good dual launch vehicle. Mind you, I think New Glenn is a bit overpowered for the LEO market.
What is the TLI payload capacity of New Glenn? : r/BlueOrigin
Oct 23, 2021 · New Glenn doesn't go to TLI. New Glenn is a Super Heavy Lift Launch Core. A lot of people aren't paying attention or don't know about the effect of a rising sea level on Cape Canaveral. Cape Canaveral has about 20 years of use left in it, and that is if it isn't hit with a Category 5 hurricane in the meantime. Bezos knows what it means.
New Glenn payload mass to LEO is 18% - 38% greater than Falcon …
Mar 9, 2017 · Based on this we can estimate a triple-cored New Glenn getting 2.5 times more payload. If the expendable NG is at 64 mt payload that would put the triple-cored at ca. 160 mt. This is greater than the Saturn V payload and greater than the max payload of the SLS in its final version. For one thing, it could launch a manned lunar landing mission.

Not really, RL-10 is used for final push and orbital maneuvering, where efficiency is heavily valued. The booster does like 80% of the work on rockets using the RL-10, falcon 9 and new glenn have the upperstages do a lot of the accelerating, booster just get them up into space and going downrange a bit.
