Richard Joseph Carmichael (born November 27, 1979) is an American former professional motocross and stock car racing driver. He competed in the AMA Motocross Championships from 1997 to 2007 and in NASCAR from 2008 to 2011.

Around the turn of the 21st century, Ricky Carmichael owned Motocross and Supercross racing in the United States. After a dominant amateur career, Carmichael made his pro debut in 1997 and narrowly lost the 125cc Supercross championship in his first year.

In 11 years as a professional, Carmichael became the most dominant rider ever in AMA Motocross. He was named AMA Motocross Rookie of the year in 1996, and logged his first full season in 1997, when he won the 125 Motocross Championship.

Carmichael rode a 250cc machine for the entirety of the 2000 season. He earned his first 250cc Supercross win at Daytona and had an additional five podium finishes.
