Bethesda Terrace and Fountain are two architectural features overlooking the southern shore of the Lake in New York City's Central Park. The fountain, with its Angel of the Waters statue, is located in the center of the terrace. Bethesda Terrace's two levels are united by two grand staircases and a lesser one that passes under Terrace Drive.

One of the most iconic and well-known features in Central Park is Bethesda Terrace, a large plaza consisting of two levels as well as an Arcade and a Fountain. Located in the heart of the Park, Bethesda Terrace is found at the north end of the long, tree-lined promenade known as the Mall and overlooks the Ramble and the Lake.

The Bethesda Terrace Arcade, the richly decorated underground component of Central Park’s Bethesda Terrace, reopened on March 2 after a $7 million restoration by the Central Park Conservancy. The main focus of the restoration was the preservation and reinstallation of the Arcade’s treasured Minton tile ceiling.
