The bridge, hanging from a network of handmade chains, became the most famous and unique bridge out of a total of 35 that span the River Dee between Bala and the sea. It was constructed by Exuperious Pickering to facilitate the transfer of coal and lime from his mines between the Llangollen Canal and the main A5.

We have a range of rooms, from our luxurious Chainbridge Suite, through to family rooms for you & the kids, or ground-floor rooms, where we allow four-legged friends (& which open directly onto the beautiful Llangollen canal – ideal for late night ‘walks’ with the dog).

From breakfast to dinner, The Chainbridge offers fresh, locally-sourced food, expertly cooked, in unique surroundings.
