Sep 9, 2023 · you need an engine at least and a control pack If the new edge already has 4.6, the coyote should bolt in place also the 5.0 bolts to the same tranny as a 4.6 Also I heared power by the hour sells kits to solve ac and front accessory drive But this all common knowledge I got from youtube and the forums

Feb 18, 2016 · As far as Ford modular motors go any of the 3valve 4.6's or 5.4L were unreliable garbage as far as I'm concerned and the 2 valves make low power compared to more modern offerings but are still notoriously hard to build power on without forced induction. The 5.0 coyote is the first modern Ford v8 that had excited me.

Oct 21, 2023 · So when I owned a gen 1 coyote I read tons of info on this subject. Basically low octane is fine, but the computer retards the timing to compensate and avoid detonation which lowers power. Basically you’re safe on 87, but the power is lower. I assume the gen 4 is the same.

People just made a hysteria out of it in 2018 with Gen 3 because the sound became more pronounced with the switch to the plastic oil pans.
