Feb 23, 2024 · The Brownie Starmite was one of a very successful range of "star" cameras made by Kodak in the early 1960s. It took 12 square 4x4cm (which is the smallest "medium format" size) images on 127 film.

The Brownie Starmite camera featured a moulded plastic body and optical direct vision finder. This small camera sported a built-in flash gun. Models made in the United States used AG1 flashbulbs while those made on the UK used capless bulbs. This camera had no other variations while in production.

The Starmite II has a moulded plastic body and optical direct vision finder. It features a built-in flash gun with rectangular reflector for AG1 bulbs. A version was assembled in France under the name Brownie Starluxe II camera.
