We’ve walked through the Maharajah Jungle Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom countless times. Below, we’ll take you on a virtual walk through the ancient ruins and discuss the animal encounters you’ll find. We’ll also discuss the aviary with exotic birds at the end of the trail.

Cross towering footbridges, roam around jungle bends, behold cascading waterfalls and stand in the shadow of a palace frozen in time. 6 days ago · We were able to see all the animals, which were awake by that time (9:30 a.m.), including the elusive tigers. The part of the trek with the birds was fabulous; you could spot hundreds, some of which were eating on the ground a mere 3 feet away from us.

The first animals you see as you walk through are Kobodo dragons followed by Malayan tapirs. From here you go through the side of a cave area, with fruit bats. Further along the trail you'll see Asian Tigers in all their glory, which you can view from three separate viewing areas.
