Feb 11, 2022 · To ensure that your Pro Controller doesn't attempt to connect to your Switch wirelessly, turn off your Switch. Hold down the Power button on your Switch > Power Options > Turn Off. Now hold down the little button on top of the Pro Controller (used to pair the controller) and then plug in your cable. Voilà.

I assumed, and I think many people did as well, that the Pro Controller would have wired communication enabled by default like most controllers, but clearly that isn't the case. I started using the pro controller for PC because I loved the controller so much. Unfortunately I play a good amount of rocket league so I had to switch to the ps4 controller instead for PC gaming. Digital triggers are a deal breaker for me. Such a shame because I really like the pro controller. However for the switch its great.
