May 7, 2012 · No I don't glue pvc conduit to be honest, especially if it's outside. I always cut the conduit so that there is a 2-3 mm gap where the conduit ends and the stop lip on the box, this to allow for any expansion in the summer.

Oct 15, 2021 · Normal PVC solvent glue does not work on HDPE. There's very little that sticks to it which is why heat fusion is the normal choice. Is there is a compression (mechanical) connector option to attach a flange or rigid conduit spout that can then be connected to the PVC?

Nov 9, 2017 · Past attempts to do this using nothing but a bending spring (originally bought for 22mm copper pipe) were not successful. I found that I could do the job if I warmed up the conduit with a heat gun, but have never been totally happy with the results, as the PVC develops obvious ripples at the heating points.

Seeing that the 18th edition in reg (521.10.202) Note 3 says that plastic clips are not meant to be used as a sole means of support and suitably spaced metal fixings should be used.

If the current rewireable board is only 80mm from gas pipe/meter can the new board be fitted there or does it have to be moved to comply with the minimum distance of 150mm. Not possible to fit close if so and would need to be moved over a meter to find space...

Jul 9, 2012 · if you look closley at the diagram on pge 18 of the OSG the gap needed between a cable and gas pipes or metering equipment is 25mm and this can be reduced if the gas pipe is pvc wrapped or a barrier of electrically insulating material is interposed, the distance from electrical accesories must be 150mm.

Nov 19, 2015 · I've never seen a pre-made "cross-over", presumably because if you wanted to cross a 4" soil pipe, a 40mm waste pipe and a 20mm conduit you'd have to buy three different size fittings. There would need to be hundreds of variants to cater for all possibilities.
