Oct 9, 2022 · I have a vertical Pitboss Pro Series pellet smoker. I just had to replace the ignitor, and during test things were going fine for about 5 minutes. Then the smoker tripped the GFCI it was plugged into. Subsequent power-ons now trip the GFCI within several seconds. What could be the problem? (The ignitor replacement went pretty smoothly.

May 17, 2022 · My neighbor is in the market for a quality pellet smoker at a reasonable price point. I am well aware of RecTeq, Yoder and many others but specifically would like feedback on this Pit Boss model. I know many folks on here have Pit Boss they like. I know this has a PID controller and smoke setting which are very nice at a price point around $600.

Apr 9, 2023 · I have the PBV4PS2 smoker and after getting it out today for the first time since winter, it had me update the smoker and change over to this new app. For some reason the app refuses to connect to the smoker via WiFi and will only do it through Bluetooth. This is useless when trying to monitor a cook remotely.

Oct 14, 2020 · I called customer service about this issue with a new smoker. Turns out the legs were not tightened evenly, which twisted the frame slightly. Their suggestion was to remove the chimney, flip the smoker onto its top, open the door, loosen the legs, straighten and latch the door, re-tighten the legs (opposite corners), the flip it back over.

Sep 12, 2020 · First cook on my new 700FB and trying to smoke a pork butt at 225. The smoker holds at 250 when set at 225. When I drop the dial to 200 the smoker drops down to 200/210. Temperatures are consistent on both Pit Boss gauges and the oven gauge I Purchased separately and placed inside the smoker.

Nov 28, 2020 · So I got my Pit Boss Series 5 Copperhead back up and running with a Rec Tec (or now Recteq) controller. My problem is that I set the controller temperature to 225, the controller shows an actual 225, and the Rec Tec remote probe sensor hanging in free air in the cabinet shows 130-140.
