Osprey Fly Fisher’s Association is an angling club based in the South Wales area, mostly around Pontypridd and Abercynon. The club has some of the best water on the river Taff, with a stretch from Treforest industrial estate up to Abercynon.

Ffynnon Taf Angling Club has the fishing rights on the lower River Taff for brown trout and grayling. The club has around 4 miles of river Taff fishing, starting just below the footbridge at Gelynis farm in Morganstown, Cardiff, then a continuous stretch upstream through Taff’s Well to Upper boat bridge at Trefforest Industrial Estate.

Glamorgan Anglers control the River Taff from the M4 Bridge at Radyr Weir to Canton Bridge in Cardiff. Brown trout, grayling, salmon, chub and barbel can be found in this stretch of river, which is urban or semi-urban for most of its length.

The Taff covers a diverse mix of fishing and is popular with game anglers fishing for Salmon and Sea Trout, fly fishing for Brown Trout and Grayling and course anglers now catching large Chub and Barbel. There has been some confusion regarding Close Season Fishing on the Taff.

May 24, 2019 · The club has 14 miles of river, including two rural tributaries, the Taff Fechan and Taff Fawr that wind their way through the scenic wooded gorges of the Southern Brecon Beacons. These rivers meet at Merthyr, forming the main Taff.

The Taf is a small but noted river in West Wales, rising in the Preseli Hills of North Pembrokeshire and flowing 35 miles to enter Carmarthen Bay at Laugharne. The river has good runs of sea trout, recording a ten year average annual catch (to 2009) of 358.

Taff Bargoed Angling Association has fishing on the River Taff-Bargoed and two lakes in Taff Bargoed Park. The club also has several miles of the main river Taff, from the junction with the river Cynon up to Pont-y-Gwaith bridge.
