Dec 18, 2014 · I'm trying to add drop shadows and outer glows to my vector images but they are pixelated. I tried to change raster settings (Effect>Document Raster Effect Settings>Resolution) and set it to high as I've read on other discussions but it does not work. What am I doing wrong?

Aug 10, 2023 · Because it’s supposed to be technically. Drop shadows are rendered with bitmaps. Pump up the resolution by changing the raster effects to 300dpi. Then it should look normal to you.

Apr 6, 2010 · Creating a drop shadow off of regular text, but the drop shadow comes out very "pixelated" and not smooth at all. The view mode is not in pixel preview or anything. Took a screenshot of the screen.

Aug 6, 2014 · Ok found what’s wrong. Setting shadow type to ‘soft shadows’ hardly matters as much as setting the shadow radius and shadow samples in lightmapping options, when it comes to actually achieving soft shadows.

Jun 18, 2022 · UPDATE: Changing the Shadow Map Method from Virtual Shadow Maps to Shadow Maps has solved the issue for me. Shadow edges are now softer and have more realistic dispersing edges. Leaving this out in case someone comes across this issue.

Nov 7, 2019 · You can see that the blurred portion of drop shadow becomes solid color and even becomes block at SEVEN word. But if I reopen the pdf in illustrator, the blur looks ok. Why this is happening and how to resolve this issue?
