Jan 15, 2004 · Steven Seagal Aikido doesn't include the Aiki techniques (as Aikiage, Aikisage, Yokoage, AshiAiki, joAiki etc.....) that we can't found in daito-tyu teachings. In Conclusion i tell it again i very love Steven Seagal Aikido (he is a great fighter) but his aikido like the others style don't include the real Aiki.

Jan 15, 2004 · Hi Aikido. All of the moves you refered to we do in aikido. As far as I know Steven Seagal has never trained Daito Ryu, ever. So what ever he is doing it's not Daito ryu. Steven Seagal has a Tenshin approach because he is the head of Tenshin Aikido. Tenshin Aikido is not a style of aikido that Seagal started to train.

Mar 10, 2005 · Some aikido dojos train with bokken (wooden sword) and jo (4 foot staff), some don't. Some have a martial and/or traditional aikido approach, some have a more spiritual approach. Find an aikido dojo and try it out. Talk to the seniors in the dojo about what kind of aikido and their training methods they have there.

And as Isoyama has stated Seagal has received instruction from various Aikido instructors, most notably Isoyama Sensei (with whom Seagal still calls Shihan and has much respect for). Jan 5, 2005 · They asked us why we wanted to do aikido, what brought us there. Not one person mentioned Steven Seagal, so I kept my mouth firmly shut on that score. Apparently, the group I joined is affiliated with the headquarters in Japan, not with the North American federation based in New York. I need to find out more about this.
