Also, IMO there shouldn’t be a sequal to USS Callister… the idea Daly got stuck in that VR world indefinitely was poetic justice He's most likely dead and the sequel story would probably be about the AI characters interacting with the human players in a game. Like the movie Free Guy.

Jan 15, 2018 · Long story short, I think there's a huge possibility that Callister Inc. and Infinity's servers itself shut down and went bankrupt due to the scandal of someone getting trapped inside Infinity and being unable to exit a game, and the USS Callister along with its crew were probably deleted along with the servers themselves.

Jun 26, 2023 · Yeah, but I don't think his problem is the job. Whatever he does for a living, he's still going to have to interact with others now and again, and even if he doesn't, I get the feeling he still would want friends/a girlfriend/ admiration from others at least.

Cookies, especially the Callister crew, have their entire personalities and memories cloned into the game. They remember things from their "pre-cookie" life, know what they are, and are capable of formulating and implementing original plans.

Black Museum reused a combination of devices but actually made it interesting, in my opinion, whereas USS Callister reused some for small plot setup and then rode off of the coattails of its Star Trek spoofiness and nerdy villain, which I just didn't find to be actually good. It's possibly the most overrated episode of the whole show for me.

In USS Callister many characters are killed and never brought back (which is only perceived as positive because their lives were a living hell). Aug 15, 2022 · Daly in the game isn't a clone, he's the real guy putting his own consciousness into the game and controlling it, that's why his physical body died when he got trapped in there. The Callister staff have no control over the game world because they're not independent and external like Daly is, they're just AI.

Callister was started by both Daly and James Walton. While Walton was the smooth face of the company, Daly slaves away behind the scenes, writing all of the code that made the company run. Infinity literally would not exist without him. IRL, Daly is repeatedly disrespected by his employees (i.e. people who he pays).

It is important to consider that the USS Callister could be dead when they went through the wormhole/update patch, so any time they have (even if they die in the next 5 minutes) is a bonus. PS: We dont know how Infinity works.
