Lyndhurst, also known as the Jay Gould estate, is a Gothic Revival country house that sits in its own 67-acre (27 ha) park beside the Hudson River in Tarrytown, New York, about a half mile south of the Tappan Zee Bridge on US 9.

Lyndhurst's interior, just as its exterior, is a stunning example of Gothic design. There are stained glass windows (including many designed by Louis Tiffany himself), incredible vaulted ceilings, and an art gallery that epitomises the Gothic style which the house captures so well.

Original drawings for four pieces of parlor furniture that still remain at Lyndhurst are in the Avery Library of Columbia University. Although no period photographs of the room survive (the design predates photography), the Paulding parlor was recreated in 2006 based on the death inventories and paint analysis.
