Fortress owners: How are your compressors holding up?
From everything I've read and researched, it seems that Harbor Freight has created remarkably decent clones of California Air Tools and DeWalt compressors with the 2, 4, and 6 gallon options that look well priced when coupons are around. What I haven't read is a single long-term review, or really anything more than an unboxing and early use.
Are Fortress compressors worth full price? : r/harborfreight - Reddit
Aug 9, 2021 · Just moved and looking for a decent compressor for the shop. Looking at the 27 gallon 200 psi Fortress, but being it's a fairly new product I'm not sure it's worth the full $429 (likely with an additional $80 for the 2-year warranty). I'm primarily looking to use this for automotive tools, such as an air hammer and impact guns.

26 or 27 g Fortress vs McGraw 29g Compressor : r/harborfreight
Mar 26, 2024 · The Fortress is the higher end brand so all else being equal go with the Fortress. As an employee we see substantially more returns on the McGraw brand. If I was in the market for a compressor personally I wouldn't even consider a McGraw if I was doing anything besides pump up tires and occasionally brad/finish nail some stuff.

Air compressors any good? : r/harborfreight - Reddit
May 7, 2023 · I've got a 2 gallon air fortress "quiet" compressor. I love it. Use it for nailers, tires, blowing dust around, and also do some mold making in a pressure pot with it. Works great for all those things. Always starts, holds pressure, regulator doesn't wander at all. Definitely not enough CFM for blasting or running any continuous tools like an ...

Sep 13, 2022 · So I just bought my first air compressor over the weekend, the Fortress 6 gallon 175psi pancake style. I knew ahead of time to break it in for 15min wide open and did so. However, I haven't seen it get all the way to 175psi. I've filled and emptied it 3 or 4 times now. It always cuts off at 170psi. It does kick on at 145 like it says it should ...
