Assuming the Louvre is still selling tickets on site (I haven't checked), there will be separate lines for those with tickets and those needing to buy tickets. There will also be a security line that everyone must go through.

Feb 12, 2016 · Based on our last 4 visits to Paris, if staying for a week or more, get an apartment near the Louvre, but in the 2nd Arrondissement - perfect location. For a shorter visit, we've always used the Hotel Familia www.hotel-paris-familia.com in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank - still pretty close to the Louvre and other sights.

The Louvre has completely bungled its relocation of the Mona Lisa and has closed the museum most days to all but those with timed tickets because of the resulting traffic jam. Museum Passes are not being accepted without timed reservation.

Oct 1, 2010 · I have to agree. I don't think "fudament" quite cooresponds to the suggested painting. And if the FBI, CIA or otherwise are concerned they better grab Bill Bryson and the curator at the Louvre first. I do vaguely recall the suggested painting though. Funny.

Dec 22, 2021 · Like someone else above, I bought my Louvre tickets directly from the Louvre over the Internet (per the official Louvre website), and chose the day/time for entry to the museum. Also, like Rick Steves suggests, we entered using the side entrance on Rue de Rivoli, and got into the museum with practically no delay.
