As Ocean Lifeguard Academy 41 is moving towards graduation this week, OLA 42 has been in the EMR phase of their academy. There they are being taught all the necessary tools and appropriate skills to become proficient in handling and administering proper life-saving interventions for any and all medical emergencies that may arise along LA County beaches. Ocean Lifeguard Academy 39 Update: For context, these candidates are moving into week 3 of Academy, but their journey in becoming Los Angeles County Ocean Lifeguards, began back in July of 2022 when we initially opened up the application process.
